NANOOK Wooden Strips Kit
The kit of strips contains all the wooden strips you need to build our NANOOK kayak:
2 gunwales, 3 stringers and 2 deckstringers.
Since each board is individual, our product pictures do not show the exact strips that will be delivered.
Wood quality
The strips are made of carefully selected and high quality Red Cedar wood, which is very light, easy to work with and extremely resistant to rotting. The wood is simply the optimum for this application and is popular with skin-on-frame but also stripbuilders.
The strips have rectangular cross-sections, so the edges need to be rounded before installation.
Tapered or in one piece?
Since shipping is difficult for such long strips, I offer the following options:
Option 1: Tapered & Shipped
I am shipping the strips tapered, these have to be glued for the construction of the NANOOK, which is described in detail in the building instructions of the kayak.
Option 2: Full length & self pickup
If you prefer to pick up the full length strips, select self-pickup in the ordering process and leave me a short message. The strips can be transported with a roof rack.
Die Leisten sind aus ausgewähltem und hochwertigem Red-Cedar-Holz hergestellt, das sehr leicht, einfach zu verarbeiten und äußerst fäulnisresistent ist. Das Holz ist schlichtweg das Optimum für diese Anwendung und wird von Skin-on-Frame- aber auch Leistenkanubauern gerne verwendet.
Die Leisten haben eckige Querschnitte, daher sollten die Kanten vor dem Einbau noch gebrochen bzw. gerundet werden.
Versand:
Die Leisten werden geschäftet versendet und müssen vom Kunden wieder zu langen Leisten verklebt werden. Dies ist detailliert in der Bauanleitung beschrieben.
Selbstabholung:
Wenn du die Leisten selbst abholen möchtest, kannst du sie in voller Länge mitnehmen und sparst dir das Schäften. Wähle hierzu auch im Warenkorb die Option "Selbstabholung" aus! (Die Option "Standardversand" lässt sich hier leider nicht deaktivieren)
